Terms of Service

1. About Tripmates

Tripmates is a community platform that lets people discover, host, and join group trips, and generate AI-assisted trip plans. We provide the platform that connects travellers and hosts — we are not a travel agency or tour operator and we do not organise, run, or supervise any trip ourselves.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use Tripmates. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your password secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

You may verify your identity (KYC) to earn a Verified Host badge. Providing false information may result in suspension.

3. Hosting a trip

As a host you are solely responsible for the trip you create, including its description, itinerary, pricing, safety, and conduct. You must comply with all applicable laws, permits, and local regulations.

Any payment for a hosted trip is arranged and collected directly between you and the travellers. Tripmates does not process, hold, or guarantee these payments and is not a party to any transaction between a host and a traveller.

4. Joining a trip

When you join or request to join a trip, you enter into an arrangement directly with the host. You are responsible for assessing whether a trip is suitable and safe for you, and for arranging any payment directly with the host.

Cancellations, refunds, and disputes are between you and the host. Tripmates may facilitate communication but is not responsible for outcomes.

5. AI trip planner

Our AI planner generates suggested itineraries for convenience and inspiration. Suggestions may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Always verify opening hours, prices, availability, travel times, and local conditions before relying on a plan. Tripmates is not liable for decisions made based on AI output.

6. Content & conduct

You retain ownership of content you post (photos, reviews, messages), and grant Tripmates a licence to host and display it within the service. Do not post unlawful, misleading, infringing, or abusive content.

You agree not to harass other users, spam, scrape the service, attempt to breach security, or use the platform for any unlawful purpose. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these terms.

7. Reviews

Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. We may remove reviews that are fraudulent, defamatory, or violate our policies. Reported content is reviewed by our moderation team.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or terminate access for breaches of these terms. You can export your data before deletion.

9. Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tripmates is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of hosts, travellers, or third parties.

10. Changes & contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use means acceptance. Questions? Contact support@jointripmates.com.
